RootsTech Connect 2022: What You Need to Know
For the 2nd year in a row, RootsTech Connect is 100% virtual and 100% free! In 2021, 1.1 million people from all over the world participated. This year, they are hoping to reach even more people! The theme for 2022 is “Choose Connection” FamilySearch, the hosts of this conference are encouraging people “to #chooseconnection, whether it’s by learning about ancestors, traveling to homelands steeped in your heritage, or even discovering how you’re related to your friends, you can make powerful connections to the people and places that matter most to you.”

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
RootsTech Connect 2022 will begin with the an expo hall preview at 8am MST on Thursday, March 3. The first general session will begin at 10am MST. The conference will conclude with the last general session beginning at 10am on Saturday, March 5th. Here is what you will have access too:

Keynote speakers include Argentine singer Diego Torres, American actor Matthew Modine, French baker Apollonia Poilâne, Ghanaian boxer Samuel Azumah Nelson, Food Network’s Molly Yeh, Palestinian comedian Mason Zayid, and Brazilian actress Thais Pacholek.
HOW TO PREPARE
If you have already registered, then you are probably wondering, what next!? Here are some tips on preparing for RootsTech Connect 2022:
Decide what topics you are most interested in learning about. When RootsTech Connect begins, you will be able to search for classes based on topic or speaker.
Branch out by watching classes on subjects you have never learned about or thought of.
Create a playlist of all of the sessions that you want to watch.
Dive in by taking advantage of unexpected opportunities. You will be surprised by the ways you will be able to connect with other family historians and genealogists virtually.
Clear your schedule and get comfy! Get your comfy clothes and a blanket. Find a cozy spot and get snacks that you love. There are so many speakers and presentations! You won’t want to stop watching!
